Cameron and I recently spent 36 hours walking and eating our way through New Orleans. If you want to know where to eat in NOLA, here’s my travel guide. After 10 miles of walking each day we were so happy we had a cozy hotel to come back to that felt like home.

Before our trip, I researched 20+ hotels in NOLA to try and find the best location and fit for us. When I came across the Catahoula Hotel, I knew right away it was the perfect match. The location of the hotel drew me in and the overall aesthetic is what caused me to book! We didn’t get in to the hotel till around 10:30pm and I was nervous how check-in would be, but it was a breeze and the staff were all super kind and helpful.

One thing I loved about the Catahoula Hotel is how all the rooms have their own unique vibe. There are six different rooms you can choose from that best fit your style and needs. We stayed in the Master room and when we first walked in, Cameron had to pick my jaw up from the floor. It was beautifully decorated and felt like our home away from home.

As much as I loved our room, I spent a lot of time in the hotels shared spaces. Every turn, there was something new to discover and if you’re like me and enjoy cute photo opportunities, then this hotel is for you. Their courtyard area was a dream and the rooftop deck/bar would be so fun to hangout with friends at night!

If you’re planning a trip to NOLA, I highly suggest staying at the Catahoula Hotel. It is a 40 minute walk from the Garden District and a 16 minute walk from the French Quarter. It’s even shorter distance taking an Uber or scooter, but it was so fun to walk and take in all the sights that you wouldn’t be able to appreciate when driving. If you need suggestions for places to eat and things to do in New Orleans, then check out my post here.

Stay Lovely,

Hannah Shanae
