Life Update: I moved to California…for now.

It’s been a few months since I’ve posted and honestly it was nice to take a small break. Not worrying about blog post ideas or brainstorming my next Instagram post felt like a breath of fresh air. That breath of fresh air allowed me to reevaluate where I want my blog to go. My brain is full of so many ideas that I cannot wait to share them with you.

While it was so great to take a break, I really missed writing and sharing my thoughts and experiences. Fashion has always inspired me, but I want this blog to be more than just the clothes I wear. I want it to have more substance and meaning. My wish is that I will be able to encourage and inspire whoever reads my blog. I don’t want to talk about surface level topics, but rather be more open about different subjects I enjoy.

For starters, a lot has changed in my life these past few months. Within the past five months I graduated college (whoo!), moved four times, and traveled to so many amazing places. In May, I graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Strategic Communications and Social Media Management. I always told myself I would move to NYC after graduation and work in the city. After applying to 70+ jobs and only getting one interview (which did not go well), I felt like my dream was no longer a reality. Instead of going to NYC, I moved back to Indiana and felt like I failed myself.

I did it!
I did it!

Little did I know a greater opportunity was preparing itself. Two weeks after I moved home I was offered a Public Relations internship in California with Taco Bell Corporate. Everything about the internship was complete opposite of the plans I had envisioned, but if you know me personally that wouldn’t surprise you one bit.

The four months I’ve been out here I’ve met some amazing people, learned a lot, and have been stretched out of my comfort zone MANY times (more posts to follow). It’s so crazy yet so comforting to look back on my life just a few months ago and see all the plans God already had laid out for me. I was so sure what my future was going to look like, but God had even better plans. Plans that I couldn’t see because I was blinded by my own aspirations. There are so many more things I could talk about right now, but I am trying to keep this short and sweet.

Thank you to those of you who have been patient with me while I’ve been trying to figure out my direction for this blog. My hope is to encourage, inspire, and entertain you through the words on this screen and I look forward to growing my blog with you guys!

Be on the lookout for future posts. You can even subscribe to my blog (it should be on the right side of this page) and get an email every time a new post goes live. I will be aiming to have at least one (maybe more) posts a week sharing my favorite travel spots, delicious recipes, and fashion looks for you to enjoy.

Stay Lovely,

Hannah Shanae

Ahh what a wonderful post!! So happy for you and looking forward to reading more! I saw a little meme the other day that reminded me of this post. It showed how our plans are to go a straight line and get to the finish line, but God has different plans and the line may be squiggly – but we end up getting to the place where he wants us to be. I thought it was a great reminder! I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!! <3
